US sales increase by 18.3 per cent in the first six months


The retail sales of home centres, lumberyards and hardware stores in the USA increased by 18.3 per cent in the first half of 2021, reaching an unadjusted volume of USD 243.490 bn (EUR 205.249 bn). The figures were published by the U.S. Census Bureau in its monthly sales report. Building materials and garden equipment and supplies dealers are included in the relevant statistics (NAICS 444). Sales overall in the retail and food services sector in the USA rose in the first six months by 22.8 per cent compared with the same period in the previous year.
