Massbuild, the home improvement sales channel of the South African trading group Massmart, was not able to increase sales in the first half of the year. The parent company reports a rate of change to the middle of the year (25 June 2017) as 0.0 per cent. Comparable store sales decreased by 0.2 per cent. However according to the company, comparable store sales on the home market were positive. The decline in sales in other countries is reportedly due to currency differences; in local currencies total and comparable store sales also grew there.
